“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.” ~Nelson Mandela.
This quote is my favorite because it sums up why I enjoy learning different languages. I have a strong desire to communicate with people. It is essential to at least possess a basic understanding of grammar to get your point across.
If you are anything like me, when you hear the word ‘grammar’ you are probably having flashbacks to when you were a child and your teacher forced you to do all of those boring grammar exercises. It is because of memories like mine why people don’t enjoy learning about grammar.
You can decrease the amount of time it takes for you to achieve a higher level of English by studying grammar. Of course, while you are learning English you are going to make mistakes. However, what do you do if you need to write an important email or report and your English tutor is not available? Let’s face it; this scenario is inevitable, but there is no reason to stress. Grammarly is here to save the day!
Grammarly by far is the best FREE online proofreader I have ever used. Everyone will benefit from using Grammarly because it enables you to accomplish the following:
Improve your vocabulary
When you start writing, you may think about choosing certain words to convey your message. However, when you use Grammarly to proofread your documents, Grammarly suggests other words that are better for you to use. Not only are you able to increase your vocabulary, but you can also learn about the part of speech that the particular word(s) represent.
Increase your creativity
When you have a limited vocabulary, you tend to repeat yourself. Grammarly allows you to avoid being redundant by providing a myriad of synonyms. Also, seeing these synonyms may even prompt you to rewrite your sentence entirely to make it even clearer.
Reduce spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes
In business, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Grammarly can help you make it an error free. It scans your document for more than 250 points of grammar, and it is one of the best spell checkers that I have ever used because it is contextual. Having a contextual spell checker is essential because it will allow you to catch mistakes that typically would be difficult to spot as a non-native speak (i.e. write/right).
Plagiarism
Regardless of how insecure you may feel about your English skills, it is never okay to copy someone else’s work. Checking your document against Grammarly will allow you to make sure that the content you have created is original.
If you’re looking for another approach to improving your grammar skills, I highly suggest checking out Grammarly. Achieving the points mentioned above will not only bring you closer to fluency but also help you feel confident in your speaking and writing capabilities. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by incorporating Grammarly into your language learning arsenals.
